Evo 9 stock turbo glowing red

Hey guys, so when cruising for 10 mins or so at any speed with rpm ranging from 2500-3500 with afr between 14.5-15.0 mostly 14.6-14.8 when my foot isn't moving around the pedal. I start hearing a whistle noise that gets louder when i get on boost and i stop to look under the hood only to find my turbo glowing red. This started happening after installing a resenator could that be the issue. What other things that might cause it that i could check.
thanks in advance.

Check the exhaust for restrictions.

The turbo glows red but not after some basic cruising, maybe the resonator you put is making really bad back pressure.

It's normal to see it glowing in the dark.

If it's glowing in daylight, there's probably insufficient timing advance.

Does the car have a cat? If not I'd check the newly installed resonator as well

That is 100% not normal from a 10 min highway cruise

Your whistling noise is another issue.
It might be a leak.
It might be a bent compressor blade.

If it's got a bent blade, it'll work harder to make boost so run hotter.

Another thing that could be causing whistling is a boost leak, I had a leak at my j pipe causing a nasty whistle/scream.

Is it possible for you to take that resonator back off and put something else on, perhaps whatever you took off? Just to see if it still does it.

i did that and put my old test pipe in which has no restrictions and the same problem happened, the thing is that the whistling noise happens and thats how i know the turbo will be glowing red, cause i kept checking

The turbo didn't suddenly go out of balance. Check for exhaust restrictions, and do a boost leak test.

but why would the whistling noise starting coming when the turbo gets hot if its bent wouldnt i hear it all the time cause if i stop for 5 mins and then drive it will take like 3 to 4 mims then the noise will come back again
