Evo starter options
I've been waiting for a month now from stm and still my starter hasn't shipped.
Are there other brands you guys have used? The problem is most part #'s only list lancer 2.0L no mention of evo or turbo...

STM is just waiting on getting the starter from the dealer they use. Have tried any other US dealers?

My $0.02: Wait for OEM. I put in a brand new OEM starter and a brand new OEM alternator. They have been 100% trouble free for two years now. Anything else will need to be replaced on the regular. "lifetime warranty" is great until you realize you will be using it every three months

OP, don't make life hard on yourself. My honest review on OE eq. starters. Post #13

I don't think it's fair that parts like starters, alternators, batteries, and accessory belts need to stay OEM when you're in a crunch.
No issues yet.

Its hit or miss with aftermarket, but i wasnt joking when i said my O'Reilly starter has been trouble free for 4 years and going.
Having said that, its ultimately the OPs choice.
I just want it to be known that my aftermarket didnt fail the day after the install.

I killed two of them last year. They don't like triple disc clutches.

Why do you think they don't like triple disk clutches? The extra heat, weight, vibration, harmonics? Serious question.
I always thought that having a 2.4L high compression motor would kill a starter because they are harder to rotate. Wouldn't the only thing on the clutch side that could kill a starter be a wrong pitched ring gear?
