Evo 8 smoking on idle!
Hey guys, I hope somebody can help. I have build engine evo 8. I build that engine myself 5 years ago. I made over 25k miles since. About 1k miles ago I was upgrading my cams valve springs and valve stem seals. Couple weeks ago I noticed that car is smoking blue/white only when standing long on idle. Look like oil consumption. So immediately I checked compression all cylinders around 170psi , than I did leak down test: cyl 1: 3% cyl 2: 6% cyl 3: 5% cyl 4: 9% . All leaks going around piston rings not from valves. I know cyl 4 has 9% leak down but is this enough to make smoke? Do I need more crankase ventilation? Currently I have 10an hose on back and 6an on side of valve cover straight to my huge catch can that is vented to the atmosphere with 2 filters on top of can, no pcv valve. Or I have bad stem seals, that was replaced 1k miles ago?
There is no smoke under boost, no smoke during cruse, intercooler pipes are dry, only smoking when is on idle for more than 2 minutes, and never smoke when car is cold only when was driven for more than 20 minutes Thanks!

I went with Gsc conical springs gsc s3 cams and gsc stem seals. I was extra cautions installing the stem seals but maybe I damaged one or something. Its weird because it does not smoke on cold start up at all, it start smoking after 20-30 min drive and only on idle.

Guys I noticed drop of oil on my exhaust manifold bolt under cylinder 1. I will pull out the exhaust manifold in couple days to see what is going on. Might be bad stem seal for unknown reason because I did changed them 1k miles ago. I was using aggressive launch control with a lot of ignition retard maybe it was too hot.
