Did your parents take out a large life insurance policy while they picked out your coffin, err car? I hope you have a lot of high performance track experience.

Too many people here complain about the smallest crap, but it has been 100% reliable for most of us (with a few exceptions). What next? "But the tires are loud..."
14k on my Evo P003 misfire code at idle and bad piston rings, 35% leak in #3 piston. Im the 6th Evo at the dealership with the same problem.

5700 miles with a small handful of mods. Slipped clutch 2-3 times and still feels like new. No problems other then a few nicks in the paint by the back driver side passenger door. Need to bring to dealer. But ive never been hard on my car, just pushed it alot

Maybe you did not properly break in the motor???? Excesive speed and "Sprited" driving the first 600mi will not allow the "brand new" piston rings to properly adjust and form a proper seal. Read your Mitsu manual, it advised against fast starts and hard driving the first 600mi. I helped build Honda motors before and the rings always need time to adjust to the piston temp driving habits etc.....Is your Mitsu warranty going to cover this problem? If not there is always a stroker kit you can rebuild your Evo with !!!! Good luck

Didn't go over 3k rpms for the first 600 miles, Mits is going to cover the rings, but Im trying to get a new engine. Mits says it's ok to drive but every performance shop I've talked to says it will just cause more damage. Car just died on my last night and killed everything to include headlights and then it just reset itself, crazy.

9200 miles and no problems!

Just thought I would put that in to let people know that not ALL Evos have problems, even though it sometimes feels like that on this site!
