Whats the deal with all these CONVERTED lancers into Evo VI's????
Just moved from USA to Thailand and ready to finally buy a cool RHD car and literally every single one is a base lancer that has had a "conversion"..... Nobody lists them as a converted car either since I get hyped up for a car then try talking to the guy thru translator app and find out it was a base model thats been converted..... So here are some examples of what im talking about.... pricing is all what id consider fair, equates to about 22-27k usd. happy to pay up to 30k usd for a nice legit evo 6 thats super clean/ready to give me miles of smiles without blowing up or having the T case or a diff blow up....
All of these I was ready to buy till I found out every one was a base model lancer.....
SO, the question is whats the difference between the base lancer and the evo? With these converted cars am I basically 99.9% getting a real evo now and the only difference in the VIN# being for a base lancer? Is the chassis etc the same if they swap electronics driveline and interior? They aparantly do this because importing certain cars is up to 300% tax ontop of the price of the import.....
