Never, ever going to happen. If they added AWD it would move the SRT-4 into the Evo's price range. What would be the point of having a car that basically costs the same as an Evo, has less power than the Evo, and is not as proven as the Evo? No one in their right minds would buy that. Oh wait, that's a joke!

I would buy an AWD SRT-4 in a heartbeat. In fact I believe it will be called an Evo X if sold outside of the USDM. We shall see.

BTW...as it is right now, horsepower and torque is extremely comprable between the two cars.

i don't think the Evo is in any of those classes.
the evo should be in a class with all 4WD, under 40K, Econo-box looking cars like the STi and SRT-4, Golf R32, or maybe in the future , the GTR if they have it in 4 door.
because i think sport coupe and sport sedan can not be compared. just my 2 cents

They're close, but I'm pretty sure that the Evo has a little bit more. As far as I know, SRT-4s have 230fwhp and 250fwtq, the Evo has about 250awhp and 235awtq. If you consider the slightly higher drivetrain loss, the Evo has more power than an SRT. I think the 2.4L engine has more power potential, though (I know there are people making over 400fwhp in their SRT on the stock block).

Has anyone heard of the MazdaSpeed 6? Isn't it supposed to be AWD. I think it could be a contender.

Not a contender against the Evo. Nobody seriously expects it to be. For performance, it stacks up better against the Volvo S60R or the Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT.
