This makes me wonder about the whining my tranny does in 1st gear...badly, after its 2nd tranny job. They replaced the input shaft, 2/3 synro 3/4 syncro and all sorts of parts (2000 dollar job). 3rd gear is notchy and I can actually FEEL the syncro working in the shifter. I assuming the new parts need to wear in...but....hmmmmmmm

Good positive review! The Evo does continually get positive reviews, and it has gotten some awards for car of the year type of thing. When all of the 03's are gone from dealer lots, the value may start to hold a little better! I still just can't believe that you could buy a brand new Evo for $26,900 and they aren't sold out! A 200HP Jetta is $25,569 or so, just $1500 difference and you have an absolute beast!

Hopefully by next year all the propeganda junk will have been burned an forgotten.

The EVO has a great heritage.. *outside the U.S.* Most folks barely know their neighbors or what goes on in their neighborhood, let alone around the world affairs. Call it stupid americanitus.. But too many get their beliefs and religion from movies and media.. small thoughts grow in sound bites.. Don't get me wrong the Evo is quite capable.. But it's image is tarnished in the mainstream by the 2F2F movies..
It's not a matter of purchase. It's a matter of what others percieve the Evo as... In Europe many think of the Evo as a superb track car.. Around here people are still very skeptical, and oblivious to it's capabilites and on road prowwess such as it's recent Tsukaba record setting lap.. Too many folks at local tracks have said, why bother with a rally car on the track.. It's too high. You need to lower it big time to get the cg down.. They don't know. THey are used to Z06s and M3s scraping the ground.. The Evo does just as well with ample ground clearance.. getting off topic here, but Peoples perception of the evo is very divergent from it's reality and around the globe accolades..

Audi and BMW have Ads touting their wins at Le Mans and ALMS and such.. Mitsu goes the absurd route using a ludicrous movie.. Someone should be fired.. then hung.. GET A ROPE..
then shot..
