PowerShifting
who here powershifts when racing?
I personally find it hard to do and I am scared of it.
the pros are obvious...but what are the cons..

Um...
Well...I don't know this from experience...but I'm guessing that if you power-shift on occasion that you will break (or at least grind) some teeth off your gears. So my advice is that if you want to power-shift...don't do it in your evo!

yeah I would be afraid to try it in the evo.
but I have some friends with turbo civics who power shift and seem to have no problems.
was jus wondering who does it

i do it, all the time. tried it once when i was racing and along with slowing u down a little it grinds 3rd real f'ing bad if ur trying to do it from 6 grand on up. if ur just driving normally its fine, saves clutch if u have a habit on driving with clutch bad or if u just want an automatic feel in traffic and such, lol.

I powertrain anything RWD or FWD car... powershifting in an AWD car is pointless... YOU will end up breaking the transfer case and or tranny... It isn't need either smooth shifts can be just as fast as a powershift and if you have ever powershifted an AWD car you can feel there isn't much difference or gain in it on nearly stock cars... Just smooth fast shifts are fine for racing
