movie madness 272 is the size of the cams, most popular cams are 264 and 272. this is the lift at a given point on the cam. the bigger the number the bigger the lift and the more lope it has. also can throw codes and stall if not setup properly .
Nastea who did you tunning. also did you drive the car after putting the cams in . i may need to get my car home after the cam install . then get my ECU done later is this possible.
thanks

yeah 10.8, yes i drove the car after putting them in, they have been in since before last december, currently dynoflash is doing my tuning, drove it around for a month or so untuned, and untuned i made 306 whp but hte ecu was pulling timing 3-4 times throughout the powerband.
let me charge up the sony handi, and i'll go start her up. me and another member here, puckadog put my cams in. we got done in 3.5 hours.

Higher duration means that the valve is open for a longer period of time. if it was open the whole time it wuld be 360 degrees. the longer it is open the less of a vacuum thst the cylander will create because the combustion chamber would be open to atmospheric pressure. at idle there is very little air flowing into the engine so having the valves open for longer causes a comndition in which the car is having a hard time getting the air to flow into the cylanders and the lummpyness is the result of very little power being made. a solution to this is to either change the AF ratio or raise the idle higher so air is flowing into the engine easier. Hope this helps.

Sorry off the subject some.
Astroevo & mksevo,
Im going to go to the track “Friday, May 21" and do a few runs. Maybe ASTROEVO, mksevo and I can hook up that night. ASTROEVO, has a friend that drives a Black Evo. Maybe he can talk him into coming. Friday is test and tune so running should not be a problem for us. Just a thought pm me astroevo and mksevo and tell me what you think about hooking up that night.
Mike

that's pretty cool, do the hks cams weigh a little more than stock? I was just wondering because the stock cams are hollow correct?? I know that you can make alot more power with the HKS cams, but I am just curious about the weight difference.

Yes HKS weighs more than stock. It's not hollow. maybe 3/4 pound more than stock on each cam
