Dude, for real. A lot of guys get that ganster syndrome from music or movies, but unless you've been there and done that you don't know what your in for. And once you have been there, you'll wish you hadn't for a long time.
I've had guns on my serveral times, and shot at a couple. It isn't fun. I've just been lucky enough to come out on top of it all.
As for the put it outside your bedroom window thing....
I don't think that works. I had a truck once that had a system in it, also had a Viper alarm. It was litterally 5' from my neighbor's bedroom window and about 20' from mine. Those a$$h0|3s drilled out my door lock, took my system, CDs, cell phone, change from the ash tray, radar detector, and the took the damn alarm system too! They also stole a camera from some other dude's car next to mine, all that and they were gone by the time I got out to the truck. On top of all that, there was a cop that lived next to me on the other side and his squad car was parked 2 cars down from my truck! Talk about ballzy.
Thing is if someone wants your stuff bad enough, they're gonna get it.
I'd just try to stay incognito, and it is good to take different ways home now and then.
