Never leave your car. Set it up and wait on it.

Yeah... when you go anywhere else (ie Jiffy Lube) they take your car in, change the oil, and hand you your keys... This may not be the best place to go, but there's no test drive, no warming up (unless it's @ idle, which puts on zero miles). There really should be no reason for 5 miles.

agreed
also if everyone it happened to made enough noise, it will happen a lot less

Does it show on your paperwork the In/Out mileage of the car? Usually the dealership is required to record that info. But maybe with an oil change they don't have to? I can't say for sure, that is why I always change the oil myself. But damn, 5 miles is way too much for an oil change. All they have to do is turn on the car and let it idle for a couple minutes to make sure there are no leaks.

I would be taking this to the service manager at least, like the other guys have suggested.

Ive seen mechanics throw **** at cars(playing around with each other) and scratch the hell out of them and Ive seen them even dent cars parking them and have it fixed at the local body shop and not tell the customer. The extra long test drives on nice cars were also common. Many other things happen at dealerships that would make you cringe.

Yes, they have to, and it is listed on the paperwork.

I've never had more than a quarter of a mile put on mine, but then again, it's only an OZ.

That's the reason why I do my own oil changes. Sad to see that the Dealership can't be trusted now a days
