What would you do?!?
So yesterday I dropped off my evo to get it serviced and a oil change done. Before i handed the car in i wrote down the mileage. Today when i go to pick up the car i have 5 miles added on. Before i had 9610 and when i picked it up 9615. I dont think its neccessary for them to put on 5 miles. They could have abused my car bad in those 5 miles. I know 5 miles isnt a big deal but its annoying to think someone couldve beat the hell out of my car. what would u guys do? has this happen to anyone?what did the dealership do?

If the milage was recorder when you brought it in and then when you picked it up it showed 5 miles Id ask what was wrong with the car and why I wasn't called to authorize the tests they performed. An oil change only requires at most 1 mile of driving. Id be pretty pissed.

I would call up the dealer and get some answers. If you're not given a direct or plausible answer, I would ask to speak with the service manager for an explanation. To be honest, five miles might seem a lot, but it's not that much if they drove it on an established test loop to warm up the oil.

I would say thats BS too. No need for that kind of mileage, even if it was to warm up the oil. I worked at a dealership briefly and you wouldnt believe the s**t they pull on customer cars.

Yeah, asking them for an explanation is pointless, since all they will do is tell you BS lies. I'm sure no techs at any dealer go out and drive the car to warm up the oil before an oil change. They simply can't afford to with the amount of time they are paid to perform an oil and filter change, if they are on flat rate. But once in a while when something special comes along or a rare opportunity presents itself, they might not care about time/money lost in order to "play" a little.

oil changes don't require a "test drive" for any reason at all,and if they tell you different then they are just lying to you, plain and simple!!!!!.Some idiot, possibly even the service manager took your car out to whip the sh#* out of it.Go talk to the General Manager about
this and tell him how upset you are about this. The least that they will do is give you a couple free oil changes,at best if your clutch starts slipping tommorrow, you get an actual warranty clutch.BTW,the reason I can tell you this is I work in a dealership, and have for 18yrs.
