Aero turbine muffler. Need advise Please!!!!

I need some advice and any input on this muffler. I have a friend who will hook me up with a down pipe, high-flow cat, and exhaust with this Aero Turbine muffler for $700 installed.

1. Is this a good muffler?
2. Should I get it done?
3. does it matter what kind of exhaust you have...as long as it is 3"
4. Should I go with the original plan...Helix 3" downpipe and HKS Ti-carbon fiber exhaust.

I have to make a decision in two days. Please Help!!!!!

check out www.aero-turbine.com if you haven't seen this before.

Thank you so much for your input.

sounds like a pretty average price to me, but then again parts for the evo are more expensive.

Most parts that promise fuel economy increases along with increased horsepower fall in the the 'snake oil' category.... I doubt this part is any different.

what do you mean by snake oil?.

This system would be fully custom, mandrel bent and fully guaranteed. I figure it might be worth a shot.

The whole muffler thing sounds like a gimmick to me

Your car though, do what you like

snake oil
n.
1. A worthless preparation fraudulently peddled as a cure for many ills.
2. Speech or writing intended to deceive; humbug.

It sounds to good to be true! If it really worked so great I would think all the big wigs in the exhaust business would all have a version on there systems. But hey if you try it on a dyno versus another type of exhaust system please post results.

Thanks for all of you input.

Does anyone have any advice about a fully built custom exhaust from the down pipe back?

Good idea?
Bad idea?
Better gains or worse gains in regards to hp?

Can't hurt to try.

Bad idea??
It will possibly be a waste of money if you do not see the results you are hoping to see. That is the only bad thing.

Better gains than what? There is no such thing as a worse gain....all hp gains are good!

If you are going to do this make sure you do before and after dyno runs to quantify any gains. Bending up tubes and mounting a muffler at the end sounds easy enough. But there is a science to it. And if you just bung it up, you may lose hp over stock....or pick up less hp than a comparable and cheaper off the shelf system.

I am a little nervouse because I have never heard of this muffler before. It's only about 8 months old. Very new to the market. I have talked to a few places and they all say they would highly recommend the Aeor-turbine for turbo'd vehicles.

I don't wan't to foul this up. I want to get as much feed back from people as I can before I make any decsions. I want to know if a custom built exhaust system (downpipe, high flow cat, and exhaust) is a good way to go. Would other evo owners do a custom built exhaust? $800 is a good price for a full system.

On the other hand brand name exhausts and downpipes are good also. The helix down pipe and HKS exhaust is what I would get if I don't do the other.....ugh I am so confused.

well you can't go wrong with HKS in my opinion, everything fits perfectly, very high quality, and looks/sounds great! A little pricey, but worth every penny to me.
