Will the cost of GASOLINE impact how you drive?
I bet like many of you, I just like to take the Evo out and play. But even the shortest trip burns up 1/8 tank of gas. With the cost of premium passing the $2.00/gallon mark here in Iowa, I can imagine the cost of driving will eventually change how I use the Evo. I'm wondering if/how any of you will change your driving habits as a result of gas prices? Especially those of you on the coasts! Will you run regular gas to save $? How has it impacted you? At 15 mpg, a trip to Taco Bell could end up costing $5 soon!

There isn't much about this car that's economical, so why worry about gas? Besides, look at some of our counterparts over seas; they are paying upwards of $5 a gallon. Do they still play like us? Of course. It's in the nature of the driver as far as I'm concerned. I enjoy cars and driving more than just about anything else (hobby wise ;-) so I don't plan on changing.
I would rather give up other things in my life to make way for the higher gas prices. But I gotta drive my evo!

man i hear ya, gas is 2.00+ out here also in maryland sucks, but there's no way im goin to settle for regular gas, ima keep pumpin premium, it's jus ill have to be really conservative with where i drive and how i drive there, hahah cuz that obviously has a great effect on how much gas i burn ;x

Around DC this weekend most places I saw were around $2.25. We'll probably use my wife's Toyota Echo SLIGHTLY more, but I bought the Evo to drive it, and I guess I've just resigned myself to the fact that it's just another operating cost... I am trying my damndest to keep it under 3000rpms most of the time, though, but that's only because my clutch is starting to slip!

If the price of ultra 93 goes up much more, than the only thing I will change as far as habits are concerned is I will start filling up with 105 octane TurboBlue and crank up the boost all the time.Hell, might as well make that extra $ per gallon= fun per mile

eLiTe eVo, I'm only familliar with Hungary, but it's been over $5 for quite some time now. It isn't getting higher as quicklyas it is here, but it's been high for so long it doesn't really matter. We have a 1990 Nissan Sentra (US Spec) over there and it's a killer just to take a weekend trip. In fact, there are insurance companies over there that will 'rent' car insurance for short periods of time; because that too is way expensive. So like you can call a company and get insurance for the weekend so you can drive around for the weekend. It's crazy.

$2.60 for 91 octane is what I saw this morning in Newport....
I have been driving my 61 Mini a few days a week. That old car gets like 45mpg. So gas costs aren't too bad for me.

The fuel prices in most European countries is as high as it is because of taxation. They pay pretty much the same amount for their barrels of oil as we do here in the US. It's just that their governments tax the hell out of fuel.

That's painful. 17mpg, stuck in freeway traffic, $2.65, 91 octane..
Thankfully we have 93 octane for $1.95 around here and can enjoy the uninhabited blocked off under construction backroads at full throttle <10mpg!

well since I am adding 6 dollars a fill up of toluene, i can nto see how an increase in pump prices will change anythign for me. I knew it would be an expensive car when I bought it, so it seems silly to ***** about it now.
