Guys Help!! \ EVO VIII confirmed rumors

i just went and test drove a 01 M3 with 15k miles, the only reason im thinking about buying it is cause ive been waiting without a fast car (i have a old jeep beater) since i wreaked my S2k in december, and im having a "not having a fast car cunvulsion". and im considering buying it because of all the speculation on the EVO VIII.....

i need some reasurance here guys....

like facts about the EVO that have been in 3 or more articles or confirmed 3 or more times

oh and P.S. plz no BS in this thread because it can double as a confirmed rumor thread

(hahahah confirmed rumor, what an oxymoron)

Alright, this should help calm your nerves :

Also, you gotta remember why you want the Evo... ultimate performance. And how could you keep the name Boosted with out boost!

Here's my list of "confirmed" rumors for ya Boosted.

1. It will be the evo 8 not 7. (confirmed at L.V.)
2. It will have a sticker price under 30k (confirmed at L.V.)
3. It will have 250+ HP (confirmed at L.V.)
4. It will have a turbo and FMIC (confirmed at L.V.)
5. It will use the same 4G63 Engine (confirmed at L.V.)
6. It will be AWD (confirmed at L.V.)
7. It will be able to run a 0-60 under 5sec (confirmed at L.V.)
8. 6-Speed (Almost all the press belives this to be true)

I guess my definition of confirmed is different than yours.

Ya, obviously to call a rumor confirmed is rediculous but these are the rumors that I belive we all are at least 95% sure of. However rumors of an AYC in the front and other such rumors I chose to leave off due to no real solid source such as the LV meeting or something like that.

My 2 cents

C'mon, we're all in the same boat. In fact, I've been looking at WRX's, but I finally drove my parents and it's not nearly as fast as I thought it would be. Go to racingflix.com and watch the Evo vs. M3 vs. 360 video. That will make you want an Evo and say no thanks for the M3 : )

Lightbulb

10k for a turbo kit for an m3 isnt that bad. Considering the many modifications that must be done to get a turbo kit to work on such a highly tuned NA motor and the fact that the car has such strict standards for everything (typical BMW), 10k might be covering some parts such as lower compression pistons or different cyl heads.

IMO why create lag when you already have such a nice broad powerband. Supercharge the *****.
OR
Buy an evo7 for 40k (E.I.) and drop the extra 6k into that beast.

Hmmmmm decisions decisions ???
