New Shell Fuel

Hey guys, I live in Atlanta GA where Shell just recently introduced a new fuel called "V-power". It seems that it is only available in 93 octane. I guess they're trying to get those that use just 87 to buy 93 again This fuel is supposed to be good for your fuel system.
Anyway, this is a good quote:
"The main benefit of driving the car from the UK to Greece, instead of shipping it over, is that the journey is real, and not a contrived test. It gave a very convincing message to customers about the inlet-valve-cleaning characteristics of the fuel," says Glenn Wilson, test engineer* at Shell Global Solutions (UK).

Read the full press release:

Another Link I found:

I guess this applies to the US too.

Cali will never get good gas. We have more cars than any state and we pay the highest prices for crappy gas. The petroleum companies are making a killing on us, therefore, they will never give us anything above 91 octane. Also, they really don't give a damn about the cleaner burning high octane fuels because our air is jacked up anyways.

it's easy to blame the oil companies but they are not the crooks
the gas you have is because of the epa, clean air guides. Right or wrong they rule, not the refineries. regulations are the reason for your gas( and mine) quality. Lastly it is the goverment that makes money off of gas, al least three times more than the station makes off of each gallon.

i'll stick with Amoco gas at BP. Cheveron's been saying that about their gas for ages, so is Amoco, before those british took over.

American gas company been bought over by the Brits... what is this world coming to?

Shell's V-Power is used in the Formular 1!! They have a German commercial which says: If it's good enough for the F-1 than it's good enough for you. [Or something like that - my german isn't that good]

The new v-power is a 94 octane, My father owns a asphalt paving company and we were paving a new gas station and the guy that sells the petrol to the station owner told me that shell would be introducing a new 94 , I asked cause i was wanting to get a vishnu piggy back and we have no sunoco here in roanoke virginia anymore so i asked him if anyone else had 94 and then he told me about shell

Man living in Toronto was great. 94 octane all the time.

Highest is 93 in GA....mostly 92.

This bodes well for people who want something diff from Amoco/BP or Chevron.
