Guaging interest: RS Rear Cross Bar...

One of the two things that the 2004 RS's have that the normal Evo's don't is a "rear trunk cross bar" which goes across the well where the spare tire sits, towards the back of the car. It does not interfer with the spare tire at all.

It appears to stiffen and add support to the well in the trunk where the spare tire sits. It attaches to the back of the trunk, on the floor of the trunk. I can see if I can get some good pics.

I can get these. They're inexpensive and all Evos, even the 2003's have the holes pre-drilled with the bolts already welded on. OEM Mitsu parts, not aftermarket. SIMPLE to install, 2 bolts.

It'll be something like $50-$60 shipped, including the 2 bolts.

Lets see how many people are interested.

The ones you'll be getting are they original Mitsubishi or aftermarket?

I have the Cusco trunk bar and had to cut the plastic in my trunk to make it fit. Unless the RS bar is extremely thin then I would imagine that you would have to do the same so it's probably not as easy as just 2 bolts. Just a FYI .

I believe this is the trunk bar in question:

I'd like to know if we have to cut the plastic trunk trim in our normal EVOs to get it to fit. If mods are minor, I'd be interested.

Yep, that's it! After looking in my trunk, you can probably get away with just pushing the plastic back, or putting the bar underneath it. You shouldn't have to cut it. I get the first ones on Monday.

Now the real test... see if I can get my hands on some of those helical front diffs.
