What won’t void the warranty

Maintenance/Wear
Parts and labor needed to maintain the vehicle and the replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear are not covered by warranty and are the owners responsibility( unless those costs result from a warranty covered repair).
Examples are
-Brake Pads / Shoes
-Clutch Disk Facing
-Wiper Blades
-Lubrication
-Engine tune ups
-Replacing Filters, coolant or fuses
-Replacing spark plugs
-Cleaning and Polishing
Also easy to understand, they do mention in another section that grades and specifications of lubricants must be adhered to, and identify the type and grade of motor oil required (FULLY SYNTHETIC SL/GF-3 10w-30 In case you were wondering) And to keep all records of the service performed, and proof the proper grade materials were use.
I would conclude then that replacing any of the above with equal grade materials should not void the warranty. If a Valvoline oil meets the SL/GF-3 10w-30 Fully synth rating, your warranty is still intact.

What is not Covered
Alterations, Misuse, or accident Damage
…“Misusing the vehicle, such as, but not limited to, driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or using the vehicle as a stationary power source”…
…”Alterations or modifications of the vehicle, including but not limited to, the body, chassis, braking system or other components”…
…”Tampering with, or modification to emissions control system, or with other parts that affect these systems”…
DAMAGE CAUSED BY IMPROPER MAINTENANCE OR FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE.
This is where most of the warranty voiding action takes place. The second item would void the warranty for adding mudflaps as a body alteration.
I guess a cat back system would be tampering with emissions, and anything that changed the A/F ratio would affect the emissions.
I am answering my own questions and running out of options.
Please help stay on topic, enough people have accepted the fact that just buying the thing voids your warranty. And have clearly stated that belief.
I want to understand the warranty process more than just accept with blind faith that there is nothing that can be done, like so many others have, please be constructive.
Thanks

find a better dealer. my local dealer was very cool when my buddy melted a valve(half of the valve was missing...looks like it sheared off) doing 145 with 4 people in the car with his eclipse. it was modded, and before the inspetor guy came, the called him and told him to bring the factory parts (DP,exhaust, intake box) so when they disassemble it they'd show the inspector that its all stock. i dont know of ANY dealer that would do something like that for a customer

When I used to hang out with one of my friends with a G2 GST, he had a Catback exhaust, drop in K&N filter, and BBS wheels. He went to 4 different service departments for warranty work and never got hassled for any of the parts installed on his car, I think the only time they acknoledged an aftermarket part on his car was when one of the techs said his car sounded sweet and tossed him the keys.
But from personal experience is keep it minor and Usually they wont hassle you. Like when you bring your car in, tell them you have 2 dozen donuts *wink wink* that you dont know what to do with and you'd hate to see them go to waste and give them to the service department.

not driving the car LOL that shouldn't void warranty. Mitsu has excuses left and right for them to void your warranty , i wouldn't be surprise if you have an UK badge and they void your warranty .lol

Damn, you guys really need to save your stock parts to put back on when you bring your cars into the dealers for service/warranty work. I know it's probably a PITA to do, but to me, it's part of the deal if you want to mod your car.

Ya I have to agree with this crazy guy
If you want warranty don't mod your car. Adding a MBC, ECU, or even a cat delete will affect the car or alture the factory performance.
I can't blame them with this car it's a tuners dream.
Now I can't beleve that you guys that have a stock car are getting your warranty denied. It's just so tought to swallow. Maybe they are seeing a mod that was on the car and now is off.
