I like the taped up baby skyline look. This looks worse than the bug eyes. When from cute to ugly. Huge out of place lights. Why can't they make it smaller and square like the skyline. The whole car is boxey and they kept making the likes rounded or odd shapes which i feel is out of place. Now i am convinced that subaru has the worst designer for appeal. However, if it performs better i still would take it in consideration. But at this point in time, I'm glad i'm getting an evo instead .

Its probly just because the picture of the EVO makes it look really wide like the caddy. Also they both have the same long arching front that wraps all the way around without any verticall edges.

Hmm
I kinda see what you mean, but the Caddy has more straight edges in its overall design, including the grill.
The pic of the EVO lacks detail and I guess we can't really see all the lines, plus the masking does deter somewhat.

Subbie really shot themselves in the foot when the launched the current WRX, the styling sucked, although the bug eyes finally grew on me. But when someone is buying a new car, they want a car that looks good at first sight...Evo VIII

Its 99% in the grill (damn thats an ugly grill).
The other 1% comes from their need to throw curves and lines together like some abstract painting in a museum instead of simply changes a few lines/curves but keeping with the overall look the car has always sported. This is something that japan really has a problem with lately. They should take some advise from their german counterparts and change a cars looks slowly and over time(porche/BMW/etc.). If you don't want it to look like an evo don't call it an evo, start a new model (929/959/Z4) and see if it can find its own niche.
