Crush Washer
Today I was doing my first oil change and no one knew the size of the crash washer at Auto Zone and asked me to bring it in.
I took it to 3 different places and no one had the size I need and the last place gave me a washer with rubber on the inside and said it would work better. Now I know that first how the heck does no one have the right size crush washer? Whatever, but they gave me this thing and it just doesn't seem right.
So the questions:
Should I use or try this washer with the rubber on the inside?
Should I just use the existing crush washer?
If not what's the best thing for getting the crush washer off?
Where does everyone get there crush washers from?
Thanks

heres the deal. This is the only thing I go to the dealer for after my Evo purchase, but you should buy the factory oil filters and crush washer. They are actually reasonable for a change anyways at 5 to 6 bucks for both of them. I usually buy the 3 pack for a little discount and less seeing those suckers at the dealership. Factory equipment works best in this situation.

Usually the crush washer can survive one or 2 more oil changes. You're supposed to change it every it comes off, but if you give it a tight squeeze it should be okay.
Jiffy Lube doesn't even change out your washer. Hell, you'll be lucky if they put the old washer back in.
Hell, you'll be lucky they snug the oil drain plug.

No Jiffy Lube's problem is there don't watch how much oil they put in and I guess they where told if you put to much in it won't hurt the car. I've drain over 5 qt's out of my old lancer from them.
