Anyways, some interesting interview comments from the STi president:
- So what's keeping him? Katsurada wouldn't say at first, but when the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII was mentioned, a car headed our way next spring , he instantly became more animated.

- "In whatever shape or form the Mitsubishi Evolution VIII comes in, we'll be prepared to counter it. So yes, you can assume that we're saving the STi brand for that chore. And I'm sure Mitsubishi is already prepared to counter our STi effort. It's a chess match between them and us in Japan currently, and the case will be no different in the States," he said.
Dude, I hate to break it to you, but this press release is from 2002... This led to Subaru bringing the 2.5L STi here.

After 2 awesome years with my S2000 I sold it and purchased an EVO about 3 weeks ago. I am very pleased with the performance upgrade over the S2000 and the mod potential the EVO has is very nice.

Chris in HB,

You resurrected an old post!

Great topic though.

My brother has an S2000 and there is no way I would take his car over my EVO8. After he drives my car and goes back to his car, he gets depressed. Don't misunderstand me, the S2000 is a great car but the EVO really is that much better, in so many ways!

The first thing I notice when I drive his car is...
Where is the power? Then, when the Vtec finally kicks in, it's nowhere near the rush of a turbo.

If you're a fan of good 'ol faishoned RWD fun, I'd also glance at the RX-8. More practical that the S2k AND more fun to drive!

Hewever, if you live in the show-belt, the EVO and the STi are the ONLY way to go...
