Poly or metal shifter bushings.. Whats better in the end?

Well i bought the 8pc Poly shifter bushing in order to allow for a little slack and cut down on the abuse that the metal shifter bushings would cause.. if any.. I will be replacing my under the hood bushings with metal, but the shifter i went with poly. Anyone think this is a good way to go, or would metal shifter bushings have been the way to go?

Thanks

i would go for polyurethane because metal bushing would wear out the parts around it

You are just used to the crisp shifting now I applied some bearing grease to my under hood bushings to prevent wear.

Any stickiness when shifting into any gears w/ the metal under the hood bushings? I installed the brass shifter cable bushings into my GSX and now it's really sticky when shifting into 5th gear and reverse.

No, but I used anti seize on them upon install... I worked in aerospace for too long to just slip dissimilar metals together and let it ride.

Same here, I gave the contact surfaces a good coating of white lithium grease before I put them in.
