Recaro warranty?

Hey all,
I just recently bought my Rally Red Evo 8 with 13K on the odometer. My problem is, the stiching on the back rest of my driver seat has come off in one spot causing the material to become loose. Also, on the base(seat part) on the left side of the bolster, the clip has come off and is loose and flapping around. This obviously not caused by me. Any thoughts on if the dealer will cover these problems under warranty? I'm really frustrated at this point with the whole situation. The dealer quoted me $1300 for the base and $1650 for the backrest. Otherwise I just might have them reupholstered in all red.

The Evo comes with a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty that transfers with the car. If it truely is a defect in workmanship then you are covered under the warranty.

In theory, they SHOULD fix them, but you just never know with mitsu.

My sister has an '02 bimmer M5, and her seats got worn funny, and BMW replaced them, no questions asked. I think she had like 20k miles on her car too.

Also, one of my dad's trucks (it was a few years ago, i think it was like a "99 f150) had stitching problems after like 10k miles, and ford replaced the seat.

They should fix them.

I had the same problem you did, and I took mine to the dealership.

Fixed the side bolster fabric no questions asked.

Thanks guys, I actualy just did a search and it turns out this is a fairly common problem with the Recaro's. I will take it into the stealership sometime this week and see what happens.

they should be fixed under warranty. The seat coming apart like that does not seem normal.

Yeah, my car's been in for that too. They had to order new clips for the seat (covered by warranty) - funny thing is that the new side clip has already came off again! It's not really a big deal, it just kills me that the seats could look so god, but have such an obvious problem!

just the defective part - that's the funny thing...The mechanic "temporarily" fixed the seat so he could order new clips for it, and the seat was perfect for the entire 2 weeks I waited til the part came in. He installed the new clips (both my front and side clip were apparently defective...not broken) and within one week, the side clip popped off again. That was about a month ago, and I haven't had the time to get my car in again.

I really appreciate the responses guys. This site has proven to be a lot more user friendly and non-**** like my alma mater team-integra.net. Yes, I'm a convert.
