after researching in my service manual I changed the transmission to RedLine MTL-90.
doh...
I have not changed the transfer case or rear diff yet, trying to fill the transfer case is another issue that I have to tackle...

If you want to replace your TC then use the redline.... I know about a dozen people that have had there TC go and everyone of them have run redline.... People running stock fluids aren't having problems

I just changed all my fluids tonight. I used Redlind MT-90 for the tranny, 75W90 for the rear diff and lightweight shockproof for the transfer case all Redline products. What a difference in shifting. I can not believe how much better my car feels now. I used to have issues shifting into 4th, but not any more.

I just can't seem to figure why redline is so bad. I used it in my GSX for a long time with no problems. As long as it's rated at what the factory manual calls for it should be fine. Hell, that's all the mitsu dealerships sell in their parts department. I would love to see them void my warranty after selling that to me.

I EMailed WORKS this question...
"Which fluids do you recommend for transmission, transfer case and differentials on a 2003 Lancer Evolution 8"
They replied...
"Use the OEM fluids for everything but the tranny.
We use a special blend of redline to achieve the proper viscosity (not something available at your local auto parts store)"
I called Buschur and they told me to use only OEM fluids for everything.

It looks like MTL is on the thin side. I wouldn't recommend it.
Red Line MTL is classified as a 75W/80W gear lubricant
satisfying the API Service requirements of GL-3 and
GL-4. MTL also satisfies motor oil viscosities SAE
5W/10W/30, and the viscosity requirements for ATFs.
MT-90 is a 75W90 GL-4 and also satisfies motor oil
viscosities SAE 10W/15W/40. The additive chemistry
used is non-corrosive, so even though they will provide
GL-4 performance, they will not corrode synchros or
bushings. Because of its low corrosivity, Red Line MTL
and MT-90 could also be used in transmissions requiring
GL-1 or GL-3 lubricants. Seal compatibility is designed to
be similar to petroleum-based lubricants.

I read that as well and thought maybe some might have experience with it....I had the dealership put it in when they did the synchro...Looks like I'll be changing it to MT-90....
