Yes you can run a rack. Both Thule and Yakima make nice set ups for roof top racks. I have had a Yakima for 12 years with no issues ever on 3 different cars. I need to get some new towers so i can put one on my Evo for my bikes.

On top of lancers, there are 4 clip inserts to which Thule rack goes on. I have these lying around along with used rack...

Snowboards can fit in the back without dinging anything up. I had 3 boards in my car with three people and didn't have a problem.

I am using a Yakima rack with no problems with bike mounts. I suggest you purchase some heavy duty vinyl tape and apply it where the pads will rest on the roof. This will let you avoid any "friction" marks that will ultimately happen when the pads rub on the paint.

Same here on the Yakima rack. I used it on my VW Golf, and only had to get new clips to use it on the Evo.

Just do a hitch mount - doesnt scratch the roof and its WAAAYY easier to install and uninstall. I use mine for a bike but I'll use it for a snowboard this winter

you can barely see it with the rack out...

best do-it-all bike I've ridden - its a little heavy on the climbs but it really rips on anything pointed down

I've been tempted to put my Yakima roof rack on my evo (just need to buy clips) that is currently on my Trailblazer. Only problem is the fear of causing scratches/damage. That hitch mount looks like an awesome idea considering that I also have the Yakima hitch fork. I wonder wonder if it will fit considering the hitchfork requires a 2" receiver hitch...ogvw...where did you get that hitch from?

sweet man, i'm in the market for a new rig myself...i got my hands on a new Ells Truth but considering my current interests, I wanna get rid of it for a more "all around" trailbike...the Turner 5-spot is tickling my fancy...

I made my hitch rack from a universal one, just welded some 1/4" steel on to "draw tite" receiver, fabbed a support bar that goes to the diff carrier, and bolted it to the bumper mounts. It could easily be done with a 2" hitch (it would just be a little more visible.

5spot is a rad frame BTW
