I used to own a 92 civic, and now an evo. I moved up in the world.

If you read in the beginning of the article it says:

"These are not the best driving cars of all time, or the most influential, or the fastest. The're all those things. Some made the list because of their sheer speed. Some through historical significance. Some becuse we just think they're cool. In a sentence, these are the 100 production cars that moved the movement and continue to influence it."

I just hink it would be good to keep that in mind while reading it. Your not looking at a performance list, just a list of a bunch of cars that these guys thought were significant, tust me, I disagreed with alot of the cars in there, but as long as my evo is #1, and everyone knows it, then it's all good.

i think its retarded that they put duplicates and repeats of various car maker spinoffs (conquest/starion, stealth/3000gt)

Cool... I think the MR2 Turbo should have been ranked higher than #44...

Don't flame me for this. I own and LOVE the EVO, but was surprised by the #1 ranking. There are some others that come to mind, like Porsche 930 Turbo from the 80's that seem more likely of #1. The EVO deserves to be way up there in the numbers; No doubt about that. I can think of a few others that could have been number 1 contenders--A/C cobra, several Porsche models, some Ferraris, Sunbeam Tiger.

Yeah, you're right, but I think they were kind of looking primarily at cars that their general reader would be likely to own/afford...

I have to agree that their criteria for selection was rather arbitrary and silly to an extent. No flat-sixes?!? Is that just do the list stays JDM or American and Porsche's become automatically excluded. What will happen when or if the Legacy STi comes out down the road with a TT Flat 6? And no pushrods? Love them or hate them, the Corvettes (LS1 and LS6 engines) and non-Mustang Cobra GTs are incredible tuner cars. Seems very biased in my estimation.

Its just a list. I dont agree with many of the cars rankings. BMW was left for 36th place and WRX has 3rd place. That is a mystery. I am not an expert but the list should be revised.

I haven't read the article yet, but from the title it's clear they were only considering cars that fit into and
influence the sport compact market ( big hint is the magazine's title).

Although great cars, does anyone really consider a Corvette or a Porsche a sport compact ???
I'm pretty sure the Corvette and Porsche owners don't.

I think it is icing on the cake. Maybe we should all take a copy of the article to our local mitsu dealer and blow the caption under the #1 heading up. Oh, wait, Mitsu will probably use this new #1 ranking to boost evo sales, then they will laugh at you when you take your evo in for service because your warranty is now voided. just my 2 cents

In response to "hey... not so fast guys, don't be so contented... we should all write in and tell them they forgot the mr! they put in like... 5 different subys including ones not offered in america... WHAT ABOUT THE MR AND FQS!!!!"

The different subies they put in were different year models. They did that with the Evo as well when you see that the Evo6, evo4, and evo1 were also all ranked on the list.
