15K service: how to check T-case oil?
I'm at my 15K service. The maintenance manual states:
- check manual transaxle oil level and condition
- check tranfer oil level
I tried a search but all I found is procedures for replacing these fluids. Can anyone tell me:
- how to check these levels (is there a dip stick?)
- what color are the original fluids so I would know if mine is discolored or not.
- what else do I check for in the fluid condition other than color?
- anyone have pics or instructions for these check procedures?
Thanks in advance.

Don't check them, change the driveline fluids. It's cheap insurance and a good time to upgrade your tranny fluid to Syncromesh for smoother shifting.
I changed mine at only 3000 miles and will change them again at 7K. A waste? Who cares. I like knowing I have clean fluid.
