does anyone here use air horns?

There are plenty of compact high db horns out there. I believe I have a few links to them in my work pc. Ill add to this thread Tuesday If I still have them. My friend had 2 installed in his Audi- There is nothing like blasting a cruise ship type horn @ people driving slow in the left lane…

I had triple 143 db air horns on my Type R... one of the best mods I have put on any car... EVER! For the life of me, I don't know why I have not put them on the Evo yet. It's horn is even weaker than the Hondas.
Does anyone know of horns louder than these? Yet still fairly compact...

If I'm reading your question right, you're wanting to 86 your current ALARM siren with a full blown SEMI TRACTOR or FIRE ENGINE air horn? Right? If that's the case, it can be done, but you'll pay more for real air horns than your entire car alarm cost! Find a tow truck company online that builds/sells lights, horns, etc for big rigs. I predict you'll spend $350-500, plus the cost for professional installation. You might also check out GALL'S. That's a company that sells emergency equip such as police sirens & speakers (including electronic air horns)online which might work for you.

i just installed stebel magnum-2 which is not a airhorn, but certainly sounds like a bimmer/merc horn which is supposed to bring out 139db..... am not sure bout the figures, but certainly way way way louder and nicer than the ori, which sounds like a donkey crying out for its mother....

I just purchased the Wolo Airmax Chrome for 25 bucks which should work pretty good. Not sure if its going to be as lud as those semi trucks but it should work out. I will be using it for my alarm mainly but if I can wire it to the horn I might as well use it too BTW you can goto Wolo website and listen to some of the air horn samples they have.
