safty mods to go with cams???

For now I have 3"tb, mbc, and fuel pump.
I am adding 264 or 272 cams soon.

Since I am doing a lot of road racing I would like to know what else do I need to change to run safe with these mods.

I promised my wife this is the last time I am adding stuff to my car.
She does not know I am starting to save for C6 Z06 though.

What is it that I should do to run safe with these mods?
Also, is there anything else I should put in before I flash it for the last time?

Do I need intake or at least a drop-in filter?
What about injectors, studs, BOV,etc..

Please advice

don't mean to get off topic, but a vette? the car has freakin LEAF SPRINGS!!!

anyways... def some injectors (maybe 720's), a fuel rail while your down there, headstuds are good as well, and some cam gears (doesn't take much more to add them)

not much mods to be upgrading fuel injector, right I recommend getting drop-in or intake along with the headstuds.

BTW - don't forget you will need to get your car tuned after you install the cams

I would like to know what may go wrong by changing cams?
Is there a part in the engine that may wear out?
Is it a safe mod?

After the mods are done get some type of engine management system to get the most out of it, safely. And as for the vette go for it. Leaf spring (which is a transverse not a longitudinal truck type design) and push rods, who cares a Z06 is a sick car, anyone who's driven a C5 to current vette wont complain a bit about its "old school" technology.

Engine management & head studs! Unti you add engine management you're both tuning blind and probably leaving alot of power on the table.

The stock motor is supposed to be pretty solid. The headstuds sometimes stretch under high boost though so a lot of people on this board get new headstuds (ARP headstuds are common). I haven't heard of anything else being necessary if just adding cams (as long as they are not higher lift cams like JUNs). If you stick with HKS 264s, 272s, or a combo of the two I think only headstuds would be necessary. I would spend the left overs on an intake and some kind of engine management (e.g. SAFC-II or a standalone like AEM EMS). Like they said above it would have to be tuned so allow for that. HTH.

EDIT: and since you have a fuel pump I would reccomend some new injectors too (correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a fuel pump kind of a waste if you don't have the injectors to go with it?) Not trying to criticize just a question- I'm pretty new at this so take what I say with a grain of salt
