Absolutely. It is very similar to M1, except it has more detergents. Between the two I go with whatever I can find cheaper.

And on a broader scale all the Synpower product line provides very good bang for the buck. Especially the brake fluid.

Would it be on par with the AMSoil (save the less expense)?

Thx.

is mobil 1 a good bit more exspensive than the other ones that you listed? I am just curious. I have the Pit Pass so I don't really know exactly what it cost to do an oil change alone on the Evo.

That's what I'm starting to think. Just the price is the only real difference.

i know for a fact that castrol and mobile use the same base stock of oil for their synthetic... there was a huge lawsuit going on and mobile finally changed over to what castrol was using becasue it was cheaper to manufacture. Unless your racing or you see extreme weather temps it doesn't matter too much... if you doubt anything then use mobile one cause who knows if mitsu will void your warranty for using castrol oil or some BS.

Not quite. It is true about the lawsuit, but Mobil 1 has not changed formulation for the worse because of it.

German Castrol 0w-30 (different from the Made in N.A. Syntec) and the Belgian 5w-40 are likely polyalphaolefin (base stock of Mobil 1) and ester.

Mobil 1 is 100% PAO.

The rest of the N.A. Syntec lineup is Group III severly hydrocracked and severly hydrotreated basestock.

Mobil didn't 'stoop' to the level of Castrol's North American lineup. Instead, international blends of Syntec have 'risen' to the levels of Mobil 1.

But if you have facts to the contrary, PLEASE post them.

ferb!
