looking for performance parts on us evo
well, my evo comes to louisville on jan 3rd. i already have 2 sponsors, one from a local speed shop, and holley. holley just pays for 10 shows, and a sticker on the car, but the speed shop will give wholesale price for parts i buy, and free labor. i know they most likely havent made any parts for this car yet, since it isnt out yet, but what is the suspention coilover kit everyone seems to like for past evos? ive heard about tein and dtm, but what has been track proven better? also, is the stock turbo on the evo a super 16g, or just a titanium 16g? this info would help on deciding wether or not to upgrade the turbo. i need to be pulling at least high 11's. thanks.

No one has the specs on the US Evo, so can't comment on the turbo. As for your car coming on Jan. 3rd, I believe the car will debut that day, but they won't arrive till much later... just a potential heads up.
What kind of driving will this Evo be doing? Suspension is a tricky thing to get right... you could get a set of TEIN if you need a street/track suspension at a reasonable price or you could step up to a set of DMS. If you want a race suspension with remote reservoirs, etc, you could get a set of Moton or Ohlins, but these will cost you an arm and a leg. Prices will range from $5,000+ for those.

another to consider is the JIC Magic FLT-A2:
http://www.jic-magic.com/suspension/flta2.asp
they have a host of other things for the evo as well...but i guess time will tell on just how many of those items will fit both the evo 7 and 8.

Here is my list of "Must-have" mods for the Evo
- Altezza clear taillights
- "Angel Eyes" headlights
- Set of Fuzzy Dice for the dashboard (+10 hp per die)
- "Powered by Ralliart" windshield Banner
- Underbody Neon lights (hot pink)
- Lowering springs (cutting the stock springs should be fine)
- Lots of interior gauges to monitor car performance. Put them all on driver's side A pillar
That should do it for now!

We dont know the turbo spec yet, but chances are it will be a TD05 16g or 15g. That means to do the quarter mile in under 12 seconds, you will need to change the turbo. I doubt, however, that you could already order a turbo kit for your car, given that we do not know if it is the same manifold / turbo / exhaust set up as the 7...

I agree, that is a riot! Fire extinguisher on the passenger side a-piller (torpedo when the airbag goes off - but we all know riceboys don't wreck), and maybe some 20's (40lbs+)for some real performance.
