HELP! How do I adjust the hood latch? My new CF hood is loose...
After buying an off brand (part of the problem) CF hood, I was trying to adjust the hood latch because the hood is shacking while I'm driving. I have the front of the car partially disassembled, and I have loosed the three screws that hold the latch mechanism to the frame, but there is no adjustment that I can see. I really need to lower the mechanism down to pull the hood down tight so there is no play.
The problem is that the CF hood latch clip is deeper/longer than the stock one, so it sits farther down into the mechanism than stock, so it's loose. Any ideas?
please help

How much is it off 25.inch 50.inch. there is only so much you can do. Close the hood
then lift up on it while it is latched. How much higher is the hood then the fenders.

the hood is not any higher than the fenders. When the hood is closed you can wiggle the hood at the front up and down about a 1/4 inch. There is play there because the metal hook from the hood is longer and goes down deeper into the latch then the stock hood. The only thing I think I am going to be able to do is cut out a small portion from each side of the metal on the hood itstelf then weld it back together. then it would be the same as the stock hood.
Does this make sense? I just don't know what to call the u-shaped hook on the front of the hood, that goes into the latch mechanism
