Dan j......^^ You just unscrew 1 phillips from underneath.....
nice write up. just recieved my dual pillar, will post pics when finished.
EDIT: Just installed my 2 pillar.....i used the power source from my cigarette lighter instead of the fuse......hard wired it for a better connection and no extra wires dangling down from the install......great kit imo!!!!

i used a different method.i have the dual gaug pod from autometer and it mounts over the steering column.i am very particular and did not like the 4 prongs showing and was not confident that double sided tape would hold up.this is what i did. take off the factory steering column cover and drill holes in it 1/2 inch in siameter or as small as 1/4 inch.drill all over it till it looks like swiss cheese.kake sure you hav 1 or 2 holes large enough to run your wires/vac lines or whatever to your gauges.scuff up the outside of the factory piece and the inside of the autometer pice with 60-120 grit sandpaper.put the autometer pod on top of the factory steering column piece and clamp them together on all 4 sides (i have som metal clamps with little rubber covers on them they look a little like clothes pins).mix up some 2 part epoxy (doent matter what brand as long as its for plastic).take the mixed epoxy and apply it to the holes from the inside.it will glue the pieces together at all the edges where the holes are and the holes will allow it to dry thoroughly.let it dry according to the directions on the epoxy. you will be satisfied with the factory look you end up with.
