How To: Hook up the boost gauge to the dimmer switch.

I don't know if there has actually been a simple write up on how to do this. I searched and couldn't find an exact answer. For the boost gauge installation, view this thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...2&page=1&pp=15

To hook up the boost gauge to the dimmer switch CORRECTLY do the following:

1. Tap the power wire of the boost gauge into the green/white wire on the dimmer switch.

2. Tap the ground wire of the boost gauge into the black/yellow wire of the dimmer switch.

It's as simple as that. I don't recommend doing this with a defi gauge because, if I'm not mistaking, the defi's use LED's and shouldn't be dimmed. However, I used an autometer gauge which just has a regular light bulb for the source and it dims just fine.

I guess this answers the question I was looking for. I was going to see if it's asking too much to get 6 gauges to dim with the cluster. However, all six of my gauges are going to be Defi. That kinda sucks. I run with my cluster at it's dimmest all the time. Hopefully, the Defi gauges won't be blindingly bright (I'm light sensitive). If anyone else has any input, opinions on this, chime in.

^ yeah that will give you solid power. No dimming. I might try going straight to the fuse box (add-a-fuse). It's far less permanent and they'll be ensured with their own fuse Still though, wish I could get them to dim

How would you go about doing this(add-a-fuse)? Didn't see it in my search. Thanks!

It's something like this ...

Although they call it Add-A-Circuit. Maybe that's why you couldn't find it?

Basically, you'd wire your new electrical gadget to this new fuse box plug and then use an empty slot with appropriate power delivery in the fuse box as a source for power. There is a big ground near the fuse box you can use and as long as the circuit breaker (orange in this photo) on your new circuit matches what your adding and the fuse box slot your using, you're good to go.

use peel and cling window tint on gauges it has no adhesive so you can remove it whenever
