I did that and it looks pretty convincing, it tricked a couple of my freinds Thanks for the DIY writeup.

Slick Job there, I have the same idea for my IX, but i need a stock cat or at least the heatshields... THE IX cat's have the 02 sensor on top now so it wouldn't work... still looking for a stock 03-04 cat... Nice job BTW

for instance.. get pulled over for loud exhaust etc..... proof of cat etc....

cause I won't need it at test time and the cat will still work without the heat shields even if you do need it.

I have a ix gsr with test pipe and I notice the bung for the o2 on the stock heat shield...so I'd have to find an 03 04 cat in order to do this mod? Thanks

can you take a close up of where you tacked onto the test pipe? im just trying to see how little i can get away with, and you want to use stainless steel stick right?
