Dumb question.. Does the dimmer (Rheostat) dim that gauge? Using that supply voltage and grounding to a ground point should always show Illumination, but the dimming function appears to have separate wiring...

I have a really stupid question... What is a fuse tap and where do I get a package? I mean, I understand what it does, but I have not seen these before... I tried to do this without one and it was futile to get the wire to stay put. I even tried to solder a wire to the fuse with no luck... I do not want to cut any wires in this car.

Fuse taps can be found at radio shack or you auto parts store. BTW, the gauge does not dim with the cluster. Here is the Radio Shack URL: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...Fid=270%2D1204

Something to Add: If you're doing an install of an Autometer UltraLite (maybe other styles too) you should modify the process. The kit that comes with it plain sucks. It comes with nylon tubing, and a connector with a nut to attach to your pressure source. Problem is, if you T into the FPR as suggested in most How To articles, the remaining connection on the T doesn't fit into your kit. Not to mention Autometer doesn't even give you enough nylon tubing to get to the A-Pillar. So I went to AutoZone and picked up 10 ft of vacuum hose. Not sure what size it was, but look at the FPR hose your tapping into (the one coming straight out of the Intake Manifold) and make a note of how big the opening in the hose is. Get something only slightly larger than that. It will fit tight into the remaining spot in the T, and it will stretch over the Metal piece on the guage. Use small tie straps to make sure all hose connections are very secure. Hope that helps. I had to run around for days with my guage duck-taped to my cluster cuz AutoMeter has crappy kits. The guage is good though.

Ok, here's a question. What is the difference between the FPR lines as shown here:
http://www.jonesland.com/evo/Images/..._bosst_tap.jpg (http://www.jonesland.com/evo/BoostGauge_Install.htm)
and here:
http://sites.vwsport.com/colgado/EvoBoost/TapHere.jpg (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=98114)
Which one do I choose? What's the pros/cons for each?

Also, the hose looks close to 4mm so it may match my Apexi hosing? Is it 4mm?

Thank you.
