i have a tial external wastegate with a 7psi spring. my top boost was 10.8 psi.

i think i need to adjust a few things. i want my low to be about 4-5 psi and high to be like 8 or so. that way i can change from fuel economy to race mode.
If you're exceeding your desired high boost level by 2.8 psi, I'd guess you need to back down the set percentage and/or the set gain.

Clicking? There's no mechanical components inside of the Profec controller to make any noises... are you saying you're hearing the solenoid all the way from the engine compartment, while driving?

In any case, I have no idea if/when my Profec's solenoid clicks - my Evo is so loud, I probably couldn't hear the solenoid making any noises even if it was mounted on top of my dash.

thanks i will look into that. as for the "clicking" i found here on the forum that it is a normal thing and not to worry about it.

should i lower both the set ans the set gain on both high and low?

i think...
if i lower my set on the low side to 40% and my set gain to 10, and on the high side my set to 75% and set gain to 30, my boost should go down.

if anyone wants to take a crak at it here is the manual from greddy.

ok so with the above info that i "adjusted" today to the values, i hit a 13.3 psi on high!

then i had some bov flutter, and found out that i had melted the vacuum line from the bov to the fpr had melted!

so many pages.. has anyone asked?

i am getting 21-18-21-18-21psi.

my settings:
gain: 52%
gain: 5%
setgain: 150 (15psi)
warning: 230 (23psi). trying to reach 21psi in 3rd gear.
warning L: 15%
peak boost was: 214 (21.4psi).

it's acting like it's hitting the warning level, though peak is clearly lower. any ideas??

any thoughts?
not sure if it's related.. but mine did the same thing. i swapped the vacuum lines on the solenoid. problem fixed. weird.. because i hooked them up per instructions. or so i thought.

u runnin an external wastegate or the stock one?

i have an external and it says for me to run the top one into the "com" side and then out to the "no" side.

2 things.

1. i have the stock setup. instructions said to run "com" to turbo and "no" to wastegate actuator.
i DOUBLE checked the lines.. maybe i'm crazy.. but i had them that way and the more i'd increase SET, the lower boost i'd run. WTF??

so.. i swapped them. now it works.

2. as for the solenoid clicking, i found it was 'cause i started my GAIN and SET GAIN at 0. well.. duh.. with SET GAIN at 0, the solenoid is working as soon as boost starts. that's why my solenoid was clicking.
is it your solenoid that's clicking?

a few things i've noticed in this thread:

Warning 1.65BAR

Any recommendations? It is an Evo III.
i'd say the 15% gain setting is causing your boost spike. your bar > psi is messing me up. LOL.

My settings are:

set: 68
start boost: 20
gain: 6
limiter: .4
warning: 250

Takes a bit to get it right. Any ideas?
your start boost is set at 2.0 psi. so, your wastegate is opening REALLY early. can you hear the solenoid clicking at low boost? do you suffer from slow spool?
