How to Install a Proper Front Tow Hook for Racing

I just installed a really nice tow strap set-up on the front of my racecar. Write-up and install instructions can be found here:

That's actually a really clean way to do it. I like it alot. I may be following suit. Thanks for the write up.

I would caution against this exact installation. Simply looping the strap around the crash beam like this will not prevent it from sliding side to side when towed. The tow truck will not care that only your plastic bumper is trying to keep the strap from moving when turning or towing from an angle. This strap will likely completely ruin your front bumper.

Digging this thread up from the dead, but has the OP actually been towed with this thing? it seems that anything other than a straight on tow will just rip the bumper apart...

yeah it does appear that it would do some damage to your front bumper
