Aeroquip flush hood latch - DIY install

For those of you who are not familiar with the Aerocatch hood latch system. See the attached link:

www.aerocatch.com

I purchsed my hood pins here and got them in 3 business days: (Aerocatch is in the UK)

www.coastfab.com/specials.html#aerocatch

I installed them in my CF hood with a buddy and did a little write up. Not something for those who are not comfortable with cutting or not good with a tape measure. If there is any interest I will make a copy of the template that I used to fab a custom bracket. See the below link for the instructions:

www.rgcmotorsports.com/hoodpininstall.html

Your feedback is welcome.......

Ummm...Looks great but the write up could've been better with measurements like the bracket you made.

is there a way to put the threaded part into the frame without a bracket. My hood latches are too thin to fit in there.

That car would look 100x better without the red mitsu symbol.

I will post the measurements of the bracket. I wanted to see if there was any interest in it. As far as I am concerned the best write up is where the end user does nothing......yeah, like thats gonna happen.

Yes, if you were able to distort the latch assembly to meet the curve of the hood.

I looked for the flattest part of the hood that was as close as possible to the frame. Personally, I could not find a spot to mount to the frame without a bracket.

RED and BLACK, the classic mitsu style......I humbly disagree.

Update -

Don't use the fastners that come with the hood pin kit. They are not stainless or otherwise anti-rust coated. Go to your local spacialty fastner store and get some good quality fastners that will not corrode.

Why would they sell an exterior mounted vehicular element with a fastner not rated for rust inducing conditions? Not smart.........

ummm...i just looked at the aerocatch website...and i think you guys installed the latches the other way around...

this on your car...

here's what the site showed...it stated it was the preferred way so maybe it's still ok if the latches were mounted that way.
