importance of vacuum indicator in BOOST Gauge?
whats up everyone, i wanted to ask all of you what the importance of knowing the vacuum level on the boost gauge.
Is there a disadvantage in getting a boost gauge that only does 0-35 psi, in other words , one that doesn't show vacuum?
Under what circumstances would you need vacuum?
Also, whats the significance of knowing the EGT?
thanks

I think I would like to know my vacuum at idle to know rather or not there was a leak. I know my current idle vacuum and if that increases (approaches Zero) then there's a problem

EGT gauges, if its an accurate one and tapped in the right lacation, will give you pretty good idea if your running lean or not. Say your running a S-AFC and you trying to tune your mixture as close to stoich as possible, if you pull to much fuel outta the mix temps start rising or just the opposite if your runnin rich. On a stock car its not going to be very useful because there tuned safe from the factory and the ECU has a pretty large margine of error. However once you start modding your car, especially once you start having the fuel maps altered its a good idea to have one so you can keep ane eye on things.
