Rear Differential Removal
Can anybody give me some quick tips on removing the rear diff?
I plan on sending it to TRE to get the 60/40 split done on the clutch packs.

Well, I just did this. Do you have a FSM. Get a copy on Ebay or thru here for free - do a search.
Its fairly easy - The highlights are
- Drain fluid from diff after jacking up and supporting car
- Mark one of the the driveshaft bolt holes the shaft on the pumpkin (Like you did on distributors of car back in the day for ignition timing)- not necessary but FSM asks to do so.
- Support driveshaft with jackstand and undo the 4 bolts
- Undo the 2 diff to subframe mount bushings
- Undo the moustache brace to diff as well since the diff sorta floats, per se
- Diff should be ready to come down
Sucka is heavy - I used a jack to hold the diff up and lowered the jack holding it and it sorta stayed on the jack and I pulled it out.
This is fairly self explainatory when you get underneath and look at it. So don't be skuuuured and get to it...
Good luck!
PS - Jon is out till next week, get it shipped off now so its waiting on his doorstep. Make sure to box it well - normally if you contact Jon, he'll send you a special box for it!
