How do I remove the CD player

I am trying to figure out how I remove the stock Evo 8 CD player. Anyone know how?

Thanks
Chris

It's really easy.

Remove the climate control knobs. Remove the screws that are in the climate sockets.

Remove two screws from the cubby hole below the climate controls. They point up. Remove the cubby.

Now stick a thin screwdriver between the center piece (the smooth silver part that the climate contols and radio are in) and the rest of the dash. Pop it off, you'll see the screws for the head unit.

Remove, done.

If you want far more detailed directions, check audio and security (might be under US Lancer stuff) It should be a sticked thread, right at the top of the list.

Did you buy the cubby replacement part, or are you fabricating something yourself? I like having my radio lower down, it's better looking.

Yes the cd player removal is easy! It's also a good time to change the green led's over to red to match the instrument cluster. Where can you get one of these cubby hole conversion kits? Anyone got any pics of thid being done?
