Setting front toe

I'm giving up on my alignment shop and want to do my own
alignments from now on. I set the front for maximum negative
camber and got a total of 3.2 degrees (it's really hard to measure
how much of that is the left and how much the right, because
it depends on how well you can level the car).

The bad news is that increasing my negative camber also gave
me a lot of toe-in in the front. I want to set it back to 0 toe.
I looked at where the tie-rod meets the control arm, and there
is a lock-nut on the tie-rod where it connects to the assembly
that apparently contains the ball joint. This assembly is
connected by a bolt to the control arm, with a nut on top.
I loosened the lock-nut and took the nut off the bolt under the assumption that I have to separate the ball joint
from the control arm to rotate it on the threads of the tie rod.
But I hammered on the bolt (gently) and I can't push it down
out of the control arm.

Could some one help me with the right way to adjust toe on
this car? Is there another lock-nut and threads at the other
end of the tie-rod (in the center of the car)?

Thanks for any help.

Michael

Hello, I know someone must know the answer to this simple
question?!? I paid Mitsubishi's $20 1-day subscription and
actually downloaded the single page they had on this issue,
but it isn't very helpful. It says to remove a clip at the other
end of the tie rod, but all I see is the tie rod going into a rubber
boot.

Help, please!
