Question where else can you install an oil temp sender?

Where else other than the drain plug can I install the oil temperature sender? Going to install VDO gauge. Does mitsu use the oil drain plug for their factory gauges?

The thing is, I'm thinking about using a magnetic oil drain plug, so I was wondering if there are any other locations I can mount the sensor.

The mitsu guages use the oil drain plug. I'm not sure where else you could put it, but it seems to me you could drill and tap a hole directly in the pan. If you do that you may want to have someone weld on an additional piece of metal for streangth in that spot.

I've got a VDO oil temp guage with the temp sender in the oil pan. It replaces the drain plug.
