I asked this on the other thread and got no answers...
What's in the transfer case and transaxles??
Front diff is in the transaxle with the tranny?

Maybe my LRV is different but the transaxle is a transmission, center differential, and front differential all in one. The transfer case doesn't do anything but make a transverse output shaft and turn it 90 degrees so it can drive the rear wheels.

What the? The viscous coupler is the slip limiting device of the center differential. Why would it be in the transfer case? Not trying to be a dik but that explanation is blowing my mind.

Ok, what is the center differential since the front differential is in the transfer case. Is it what connects the tranny to the front drive shaft?

The center diff itself also has two outputs on the right side, which are concentric to one another. The outer one spins the viscous coupler case, which has a ring gear on it to spin the pinion that turns the propshaft that sends power to the rear of the car.
The inner shaft spins the front diff which is connected to the inner portion of the viscous coupler.
Inside both of these two shafts is where the left driveshaft goes through. If you've read any of the clutch install threads, that's the shaft that needs to be pulled out with a slide hammer.

Guys! Don't use redline in your transfer cases. Mitsu recommended what it did for a reason.

What does Mitsu recommend? I'm probably going to change mine next time I change the oil. I've heard of Redline eating synchro's but haven't read into it enough. What are you guys using for diff/transfer/transaxle?

Bah.. finally got my OEM SAE90 and BG syncroshift... I've bought 2 pumps now and both were total pieces of ****.
Anyone seen a decent electric pump out there?
