Power for Autometer Boost Gauge

I am trying to get power for illumination to my Autometer Boost Gauge using an extra power accesory fuse which I am pluging into spare fuse spots 10 & 17 as depicted below.

It doesnt work .... does anyone know if 10 & 17 have power going to them at all ?

The photo below is of somebody elses install ... I am not to crazy about sticking the power line directly into fuse #2 as depicted in the photo.

Get out your multimeter and splice into your CD player wiring harness.

to answer the original question: there is power on the bottom spade of number 17 all the time and power on bottom spade of number 10 whenever the ignition is on.

Easiest wire to tap into is the ashtray light--then the boost gauge light goes on and off with your headlights/ashtray light

I spliced mine into the wires coming from the dimmer switch. I spliced into the black wire w/yellow stripe and to the green wire w/white stripe (I would have to check which was hot and which was ground). My guage dims with the dimmer of the car :-)

I used one of those curcuit plug in adapters. They are available at autozone. Just ask for a mini add-a-curcuit. Very easy to use and great for the power on a boost gauge.

I havent had much time to really look at why my lighting doesnt work until about 1/2 hr ago. Well stupid me ... if you look at my add a circuit wiring I didnt put ANY fuses in the "add a cicuit" thats why it didnt work.

DOH!!!

This is what happens when you try and rush through things without reviewing directions and really looking at what your doing.

Now it works perfectly ..... even the gauge color matches the dash color perfectly.
