brake caliper paint question?

im thinking about re-painting my brembo brake calipers in red, right now mine are faded and the colour is chipped off some places,i would like to know what kind of paint should i use...

where i live we dont get brake caliper aerosol paint cans nor anything else related to brake caliper paint,,,now i talked to a painter he told me we can use normal car paint with a little hardner and it'll be as good as new... and wont crack or chip the paint under extreme braking tempreture...

is it a good bet to use car paint or not?

thanks.

I used VHT caliper primer/paint/clear on mine, and they still look good after 2 years. The paint hasn't faded at all and has held up to Chicago weather.

I don't see a problem with using paint used to paint cars with, but I'm not a paint expert. Have you considered having them powder coated or is that not available as well?

You want a heat resistant paint. VHT caliper paint is rated for 800 or 900 degrees. Engine paint will work.

Just a quick question. After re- painting the caliper the brembo logo gets put on first before the clear coat or after the clear coat? Please advice Thanks.
