Proper Boost Adjustment

Proper Boost Adjustment
First, I've exhausted my search capabilities...secondly, thanks in advance to anyone that provides input!
I'm going to install my Hallman Pro Evolution RX mbc this weekend, and I want to be sure the proper method for adjusting the level of boost.
I've heard that it should be adjusted to the reading of the boost when I'm in 3rd gear WOT...is this true?
What's the best method to properly adjusting this boost level, so that I don't over-set the boost level?
Again, your input is appreciated!

Third gear would be the minimum gear to use. It is usually picked because relatively safe speeds are maintained while still providing enough of a load to see how the turbo/wastegate reacts to your MBC setting.

You want to load the engine so third gear works, but you'll still have to check in the other gears to make sure your not getting unsusual spiking.. Especially on a downshift.. Then you can adjust accordingly.. I had the same boost controller, and I basically snuck up on the setting starting with very low boost (Wastegate actuator spring pressure) and working my way up 1/2 turn at a time until I was roughly where I wanted to be.
Once I got a setting I liked and that worked, I took a paint marker and drew a line on the body and knob.. Then when the weather (air density) changes, you can adjust accordingly and mark again with a different color paint marker. You should at that point have settings you can return to for winter or summer..
Just follow the hallman instructions because the way the valve (and its bleeder) is oriented is important since the checkball essentially functions as a one-way valve.

im installing my hallman mbc today. so after im done should i do some full throttle runs in 3rd gear and monitor my boost gauge that way or do i have to do it for every gear until i get the desired boost level?
