I just recently put the Ultimate Racing 3" High Flow Cat on my car and just today on my way to work the check engine light came on. Is this going to hurt anything in my car? My other mods with the high flow cat are a RMR intake, RMR 3" exhaust and the RMR 3" downpipe and a boost gauge and turbo timer. Since I got over looking at the check engine light I disconnected the neg side of the battery and the reset the ecu, let it disconnect for about 5-10 min. It got rid of the light but will it come back and if it does I think I will prob put the stock cat back on.

most likely you wont have too. i have had to reset mine but thats only after a mod or two but i havent had it come back on if so just reset it & turn the key in the ignition 3 times but do not start the car then after the 3rd click turn it over and you shouldnt have the reset showing.

 

my cel came on with a day or two after i had my intake and exhaust put in.. it turns off sometimes but ive been driving around for a week now with it in.. am i stuck with it on for as long as i have my mods or do i need to pick up a fuel management system?

 

it shouldnt be coming back on after you reset it. mine hasnt since ive done a few mods just try reseting it & let hte battery sit for like 10 mins then click the key 3 times

 

Just curious what clicking the key three times does after resetting the batt.

 

thats what i heard from another member but it seems to work

 

the UR downpipe is like the only one that doesnt set off the CEL its your downpipe thats doing it the UR flex downpipe is great (wont set off CEL wich can be very very annoying)

 

Buy an AEM 1313 ECU,and your check engine light becomes a shift lite.I do love mine.LOL
