Torque specifications for cam install

Where is the best place to go in order to get the torquing specifications for everything when doing an HKS cam install?

The bearing cap bolts are to be torqued at 14 +/- .5 ft-lbs. Definitely have the shop manual with you if you're going to undertake a cam install. You're supposed to remove the bearing caps from the outside in and install them from the inside out.

Here are a few more pointers:

One thing I've always done during my cam installs were to drain the lifters by sticking a small allen wrench down the hole. Once you remove the stock cams, the lifters will become fully extended. I've heard of people bending valves when they first start their cars up after a cam install, so I always drain them as a pre-caution. You'll hear a lot of chatter when after you start up your car, but it goes away after a 5-10 minutes of idling.

And don't forget to lube all mating surfaces with assembly lube or motor oil. Some people like to change their oil right after the install as an extra precaution. I did mine a week after.

You can just follow the directions from EVOMOTO

Here is the link:

http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php?techID=18

It has everything you need, torque specs and all. I just installed my 272s last week. Install went nicely. Check out their Evo Tech section they got plenty of info.

Hope this helps....

You don't need to take the timing belt off to do a cam install.
